How We Will Work With You
As a philanthropic supporter, you’ll be part of the StreetVet family and crucial to helping us deliver free veterinary care to the pets of owners experiencing homelessness across the UK.
We will work with you on a personal basis to maximise the impact of your support and help you engage with StreetVet’s work in a way that suits you best. Whether this be one to one meetings, introducing you to our volunteer vets and vet nurses, creating bespoke updates or inviting you to special events such as our annual conference, you can be sure to feel close to the work you are supporting. If appropriate, we would also like to acknowledge your generosity and compassion publicly.
How it works
Tax-Efficient Giving
We want to work with you to help maximise the impact of your gift. If you are a higher rate taxpayer in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can claim back 20% of your net donation after the inclusion of gift aid.
This means that if you donate £1,000 to StreetVet and gift aid it, StreetVet will receive £1,250 and you can claim back £250. Therefore, StreetVet receives £1,250 at the cost to you of £750.
If you are an additional rate tax payer in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you can claim back 25%, meaning your gift could be worth even more.
If you are a higher rate or additional rate taxpayer in Scotland, you can still give tax-efficiently but rates differ.
How it Works
Share Giving
If you have small shareholdings that are difficult or uneconomical to sell, donating them is a tax-efficient way of supporting StreetVet. You won’t have to pay capital gains tax and you can claim income tax relief, too.
You can donate shares via ShareGift, a specialist platform for share giving, and nominate StreetVet as your chosen charity.
By giving your unwanted shares to StreetVet, you can help fund vital veterinary care and support services for the pets of those experiencing homelessness across the UK.
How It Works
Give Through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
Giving through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a strategic and tax-efficient way to support StreetVet. A DAF is a charitable giving account where you can contribute cash, shares and assets, with the potential to claim capital gains and income tax relief.
If you already hold a DAF, you can contact them and request that they make a grant to:

If you are considering setting up a DAF, we recommend getting in touch with a trusted provider such as CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) or NPT UK (National Philanthropic Trust).
